College Admission Guide as per My Personal Experiences

Getting admission into college

Being admitted into a good college is easier said than done. Hundreds of Thousands of students go through this painful procedure as a means to further their education in hopes of getting a better life but the process is not as easy. Lucky for you, I will outline the Best Practices I used when I applied to join Boston University!

Admission Consultancy and why it’s Important

Admission Consultancies are really handy and have actually helped me a lot. With over 5 million students applying all over the world, the competition is really at its peak.

To insure you get accepted into your preferred institution, these agencies are here to provide you with insight on how you should go about the application process and as an added bonus, give you tips to make sure your application stands out from the generic content.

Admission counseling played a big role in my quest to get accepted into one of the Best Universities in the US!

High School Prerequisites

Taking many Advanced Placement classes was one of the things I valued the most until an Education Consultant advised me to take part in 8 classes only in order to maximize my time on other critical areas. I didn’t waste or dedicate essential time to unnecessary tasks so I could focus on expanding what I had already acquired throughout my high school.

At first, I primarily believed in more is better but as research from the Best College Admissions Counselors and leading Educational consultancies in Hong Kong, most Colleges already expect applicants to do more AP classes than what is required, forcibly putting your application in the generic column.

Extracurricular Activities

Throughout my personal research, I have found out that scholarly activities play a major role in getting accepted in most Colleges and Universities worldwide. Despite being a natural bookworm, I was inclined to take up nerdy activities and sure enough this paid off!

I also took up physical sports such as tennis and football back in High school but after further investigation into the application process together with Admission experts, I was stunned to find the following!

Three in every seven applicants on average have taken up non-physical/academic activities such chess, toastmasters, debate and so forth. Out of these three, two of those are likely to be accepted based on the merit that most Colleges prefer student who are diverse in educational terms.

So in-spite of academic sports being not as exciting or interesting, try them out, it really helped me.

How I presented myself

Through admission consultancy, I was able to paint a picture about myself as a student, an image which portrayed me as an outstanding unique learner. I used simple terms in my essays however; those words displayed a bigger picture which eventually led the Admission board to consider my application.

Honesty is the best policy and combined with a bit of creative thinking, everything will work out fine! Remember, what you put into your essays will end up determining if you deserve to be enrolled.

Overall Experience

The entire process was really stressful and boring but dedication, determination and discipline kept me going. The process had its fair share of ups and downs but resilience is the Key to Success. This is how I got accepted into Boston University.

How My College Application Essay Got Me Into Stanford University

The college application essay: it’s probably the #1 biggest hurdle facing a high schooler applying to college. At least, it was for me. I wrote and rewrote my essay fifty times over, adding and then deleting whole paragraphs as often as I changed clothes. Every day it felt like I was approaching a different beast… and I didn’t even have a college admissions consultant to help me! How I tacked the college application essay: What I ended up with was more of a story than an essay. It was the story of how I taught myself to code. I taught myself to code computer games – mostly because I liked to play things like Super Mario Bros. and I wanted to design my own levels. But I told it like a story. I explained how I took the task in front of me, and broke it down. I conquered small parts. I made many side projects that also contributed to my knowledge of coding – before I designed my capstone project: my own version of The Legend of Zelda. I got lucky; I did what a college admissions consultan
